More
Than Gold sports camps and clinics were established in 1996
to build solid sports skills and strong Christian character.
Basketball was the first sport used for this purpose. After 12
years, there have been soccer, baseball, wrestling, and all-sports
camps/clinics in multiple states, foreign countries, and across North
Carolina. More Than Gold is also a Gospel ministry resource for Upward,
Junior Prep Stars, Salvation Army, and others conducting sports programs
for children and youth.

Gym courts, fields, and black tops
are common sites for MTG Sportsreach camps and clinics. Campers (7-14
years old) have attended half-day and full-day camps and clinics at
churches, schools, parks, and street corners for the past 12 years.
Cross training, Today's Heroes, contests, and team play highlight all
camps and clinics sponsored by CEF Ministries of North Carolina.

Campers are expected to listen and follow the 'Todays
Heroes'

Summer Mission in Chicago 2008
The Durham staff and sports outreach volunteers experienced a successful
citywide campaign last July-August with Child Evangelism Fellowship
missionaries from 23 states. Sports outreach events, specifically,
basketball camps/clinics were conducted in Chicago. Nearly 2,000
kids were reached during two weeks of outreach through Bible clubs and
sport camps. Next year the target city is Little Rock, Arkansas
from July 20 - August 1, 2009.
